The Codair Group are pleased to have been involved in the St Helena Hospice Tree-cycle event this year. It always a pleasure to help the Hospice, a local charitable organisation providing care and support to make life better for those with a life-limiting illness and offering assistance for families and carers during such distressing times.
A thoroughly rewarding time was had on Saturday 7th January by Mandy Cant, Helen Worby, Terry Knight and Mark Stonebank from The Codair Group, pictured above with fellow volunteers, when they joined the amazing team of helpers who gave their time for the St Helena Hospice Tree-cycle fund raising event.
Following an early morning briefing at Colchester Borough Council’s recycling site at Shrub End, they set forth in two of our company vans to collect lots of real Christmas trees from supporters who had kindly signed up for the tree recycling scheme. Our team drove around north and west Colchester as well as the town centre to gather up trees from over 100 households. All the trees collected were then taken back to the Council’s Shrub End depot to be recycled.
Over 1,000 trees were collected under the scheme raising more than £10,000 in donations.
Mandy, Terry and their team would like to thank everyone who said hello on their rounds and made this worthwhile exercise such an enjoyable experience. Hopefully, we will see you all again next year at the St Helena Hospice Tree-cycle 2018 event!
